Keyboard Keys Stopped Working Randomly

Hi! So recently, I noticed some of my keys getting stuck once in a while, but after holding them down hard for a second they are fine. Well last night randomly the b and n keys (and I think esc as well) stopped working. I have take them off and cleaned them. I uninstalled ad reinstalled the driver. I went into the bios to see if it was hardware or software. (It’s hardware) Tapping those two keys didn’t even turn on the backlight so they aren’t even being recognized.

The only thig that worked was pushing down on the keys extremely hard. After maybe 15-30 seconds, sometimes the letter would show up. It would work for a few seconds, and seem like everything was completely fine. but the tonight it has happened again. I push them down very hard, they work, but then a few seconds later they stop. I REALLY do not want to get a new computer…this one is 4.25 years old about - purchased in April of 2019. I rely on this computer for work and a million things that I do every day…so I’m kind of stressed out. I just held down the for about 30 seconds…it worked with the s coming out slowly and then normal as if I was holding down the key (which I was). I went to type this sentence and they stopped again. I have copied and pasted all the b’s and n’s on here so if I missed any I’m sorry.

ETA: a minute after typing this post, they are working ok (for now). Why is this happening and what do I do? Please help!!

simply sounds like the keyboard is failing.
and definitely stop pressing down REALLY hard.
under the keyboard is all the sensitive components and pushing hard will be doing you no favours.

plug in a USB keyboard and see how that goes.
I have a couple of laptops require keyboard replacements over the years and they cost $AUS120.
so worth it!

I didn’t know I could just buy a replacement keyboard and install it myself. So thank you!

some are easier than others.
some come out from the top, others you have to take off the back plate and pry it all apart.
while not hard, it can take patience, small screwdrivers, a guitar pic helps pry the plastic moldings apart, and finding all the screw recesses which are sometimes under labels/stickers or the rubber feet.
then there is the keyboard data ribbon and its locking latch, and sometimes other cables are too short to lift up the keyboard and have to be removed as well, like the touchpad.

but take your time, and do the Google research. (y)
