g’day and welcome to the forums.

have you gone to the HP Customer Support page here; https://support.hp.com/au-en/drivers/laptops - entered your serial number and checked you have the latest driver for the touchpad?

and just for testing purposes, if you plug in a USB mouse, it has no issues?

Is there a new Touchpad entry under Settings>Devices? Are there any settings there?
Does the touchpad show Nader device manager? If no then check further under view>show hidden devices.

The newer Elan/Synaptics driver seems to break the touchpad settings so that you cannot turn the touchpad on/off or use various scroll options.
Try installing the Microsoft precision touchpad driver:
https://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/6616...on-windows-10/ This will add extra touchpad options under Settings>Devices>Touchpad.
