#1 I don’t have a MB to swap and to get one I have to buy it off of places that sell the MB but just as broken as mine.

#2 I’ll see if I remove the ram if I get a different result, but I believe I tried that already.

You can get fully working MBs for your notebook and from ebay, suggest that you get some prices from the likes before you head to the PC repair shop, they will only be able to obtain a board from a similar source but will add a bit on top of the cost + the fitting charges.

Only suggested as it was not mentioned within the thread and just trying to make sure that we exhaust all checks.

I might buy on on eBay but the minimum price for a β€œworking” one is around 100$. Another thing I would have to check is if it has the same CPU installed, which would make this hunt harder. Also I tried pulling the ram out again and still no signs of life

I also have to mention that I did do a full tear down and fully reassembled it, still no life.

Dead CPU socket or CPU by the looks of it.

As long as the board is the same it does not matter what CPU is present as long it is working.

Alright, I’ll look into it and see if I can get it fixed. Thank you. Although I don’t know why it would just drop dead, it was working perfectly fine.

It breaking the way that it did is unusual as are the test results which suggest that either the CPU socket is getting no power to it or that the CPU itself has failed, the latter would normally only be caused by getting too much voltage or overheating neither of which you appear to have encountered.

Would be interested to hear what is found.

Sorry, I didn’t see the second page. Yeah, I can’t figure out why is just dropped dead.

I’m gonna push it back to Monday, I’m hoping to get an estimate on what the repair is gonna be, if it over priced then I will stick to getting a new MB or selling the laptop.

Sorry to waste everyone’s time, I think it would be best to close the forum. I don’t have enough time to deal with the laptop and I plan on selling it for parts. Thank you for your help.
