Hi guys, can anyone help me, I have a windows 11 laptop which i don’t use, so wanted to connect it to my pc and use it as a 2nd screen.
it’s a touchscreen HP envy and i’ve got a HDMI wire which i have put into the laptop and then into the back of my monitor but nothing happened, i then put it into the back of the pc into the GPU and nothing happened.
anyone can help?
"Yes. Some laptops may be able to connect via HDMI, Bluetooth or through the Windows+P method. It will depend on which laptops you have available, and it is worth checking out each method to see which method works best for you."
it all depends if the HDMI port is a in’y or an out’y - monitors are IN, laptops are OUT.
so laptop to PC is a NO.
laptop to monitor is YES, but it sounds like you already have your PC going to the monitor, so unless the screen has 2 HDMI ports, you won’t have a spare port to plug in to.
and even if you did, you would need to switch the input source on the monitor from HDMI1 to HDMI2 and back again depending on what input source you want to look at.
