    How to fix a connection

I am looking for suggestions/help to fix my laptop (would prefer not to trash!).
As shown in the image I need to connect the two 4-pin connectors (circled in red).

The original flat 4-wire tape that ran between them is gone and I broke the original flaps that secured each tape end to each connector.

The only way I can see is soldering a wire to each pin. This looks to be difficult very fine soldering that I am not able to do.

    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

do you still have the flat ribbon?
your main issue is knowing the pin layout of those two connectors, that is, red to red, black to black etc.
you could try Googling, looking for pinout diagrams for that make/model of laptop.

then your next hurdle is getting a thin gauge wire, and soldering the two connectors together, without melting the plastic into a molten mess.
may even be possible to remove that white plastic moulding altogether and solder directly onto the circuit board.

it seems to be close to the hinge assembly, do you know what those two circuit boards are for?
that top left one, is that where the power plugs into?

a clearer shot may help too.

and if this was fixed, the rest of the laptop is good?

Have you tried and what were the results on the other forums that you posted this on?
