Fast Boot BIOS issue

did you ever remove the CMOS like instructed to in Post # 10?

And the Lenovo logo that I want to remove but there isn’t this BIOS setting…

Think that is integrated into the BIOS and cannot be removed.
Much like the other prefabricated systems are (Dell, Gateway, HP ETC).

There could have been a fix for that from a BIOS update yet they all state require Windows 10 to perform. Since you updated to Windows 11 do not want to take the chance of disabling the system totally.

I haven’t yet tried to remove the CMOS battery, I’ll do it after the 2 days I was talking about (battery life is more important).

Being that the laptop was manufactured in 2020 the battery may be starting to show age and not capable of holding a charge like it used to.

this is the first and last product that i buy from lenovo, there are few options in the bios, also i can’t even disable the boot logo, i would like to use the windows one instead i have to have that ugly rectangle with LENOVO written on it

Some installed apps will override some system settings. You may set your operating system to turn off hibernation however an app is possibly overriding that setting and hibernation is enabled. So its possible an app is overriding your system settings and when you shut down the computer it goes into hibernation and is not turning off fully. Hence your battery being drained.

Example of some apps that override your system settings are StallAllBack, Auto Dark mode, FlyOut, Windows Power Tools. You need to go through your apps and try and find which one or more could possibly overriding your system settings.

Ehy! Surprise, powercfg.exe didn’t work, the battery when I left it two days ago was 100%, today it is 91% (two days off)

100% than two days later at 91% - that’s not too bad.
I usually see about 2 or 3% drop each day when laptops are shut down.
add an extra few %'s as the battery ages, and your 4-5% drop per day is within the margin of error.

That’s not too bad, 9% in two days is good for me… But before installing 22h2 battery losts 10% in 4/5 days. I can do better in my opinion, after the update many things have changed (BIOS side and Windows side) eh…

That battery is also 3 years old. Even if you were to pull the battery out it would still show a drain when put back in.

I agree it could be the battery. It could also be settings in Device Manger. How to test the battery? I know Windows 11 has PC Manager. What do you suggest in a software to test the battery?

I feel defeated, but at 50%!

I didn’t want to try and update the bios, that probably would have messed things up even more. I took the system to MBR, so Legacy, everything works as before, it works as before 22h2, so good… even the windows logo appears, it seems, simply the BIOS is bad, an update could have solved it, but it could have given even more problems, given the situation I preferred this path, in the end it doesn’t change anything for me, I’ll keep an eye on the battery and let you know for this point

Hi, this is the end of this topic.
All my problems were solved simply using MBR instead of GPT (Legacy instead of UEFI).
The battery problem has been solved (100% 16/02/2023 20:00, 99% 18/02/2023 13:56).
Splash screen shows Windows logo, no longer Lenovo logo.
The audio works better (I didn’t ask for help on this, I didn’t want to ask you too many things).

All’s well that ends well, but (as I said) I’m only 50% happy. I fixed my problems by returning from GPT to MBR, the UEFI mode always gave problems to the system, I could update the BIOS or as I was suggested to change the CMOS battery, but I didn’t.
