My Acer desktop is very near my modem and router, so I have it connected to my router with an ethernet cable. The download speed is about 600Mbps, which is what I pay for. My wifeβs Dell Inspiron (3 years old) is about 14 feet away and connects wirelessly. The download speed is only 70 Mbps. I moved her laptop near the router, and there is no difference in the download speed. Then I connected it to the router with an ethernet cable, like my desktop. Hardley any difference. I set up both computers, so I doubt if a setting is wrong. Any suggestions in the great difference in download speeds ?? Thanks, Mike

OK, I downloaded that Speccy scan, and ran it. Then it asks if I want to save it to a browser, or the clipboard. I chose clipboard, but I can not find it. I also tried to copy the address to my desktop. It only allowed me to copy a shortcut. I did that but am unable to add it to your site. ???Comment

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.
To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:
In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.
In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.
Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.Comment

No, lets skip the speccy if you are having issues with it.
Get System Info Log.
Include in your next reply a Get System Info log.
Save it to your desktop when complete.
Once you have the file on your desktop, then upload it here.
Copy the URL after your report is loaded.
Then send us the link.Comment

HI, not having much luck with Speccy or that Get System Info. file. It tells me that the one file is too large to upload, and the other message is that the speecy file does not have the proper file extension. I think I will just pass for now. Many thanks for your help and suggestions.Comment
