Laptop's LCD shows blank and got stuck on BIOS, any way to get out?

I’m using an Asus K55A-HI5121E, a few months ago a similar problem happened where my laptop’s lcd started showing blank after I forgot to close it and it shut down on it’s own (not sure if I kept the charger plugged in during that time)
I realized I could use a tv as a replacement for the lcd temporarily and I eventually took it to a repair shop and they couldn’t fix it. So I tried fixing it on my own and found out I needed to open up the BIOS to get it to work and i just had to press restore to default and fix the settings to make it work again. A few weeks ago the same thing happened again but I just did what I did last time and got it fixed. Then today, it happened again, I had already plugged in my tv as a seconday monitor since I found it more convenient but this time, the BIOS launched on the tv and I had done restore default on BIOS and my tv became unusable through my hdmi and won’t connect anymore and my laptop is essentially stuck in a BIOS loop where I can’t leave because I don’t have the vision to change the settings on “Launch CSM” and “Secure boot” so my laptop can leave BIOS.

Before all this happened, I installed a 4gb ram stick to my laptop a few days before the first time my lcd disabled.

I also know I’m still in BIOS since pressing F10 then enter seemingly restarts the LCD basically blinking the light.

So is there anything I can do to atleast allow my tv to connect again? I’ve tried removing and placing ths CMOS batery back on, restarting multiple times, leaving it closed for an hour, and even following a youtube tutorial to see where I have to go and copy their steps to get out of BIOS.

    Hello

If you have the old ram, put that back in and see if the laptop will boot up. Give us the spec’s of that new ram.

I tried my laptop with only the old ram and it remained the same

      The new ram is a Crucial 4GB DDR3L - 1600 SODIMM 1.35V CL11

I’m gonna mention that my time zone is UTC +8 so I may not be able to respond for a while.

in my experience, the only time a PC goes directly and automatically into BIOS is if it hasn’t passed the POST process. (or you have simply got yourself a faulty motherboard)

so yeah, get the PC back to it’s original state, like putting back in the old RAM would be a start.
also remove any other memory sticks and clean their board, contact points and motherboard slots with a soft bristled brush.
next potential fault is the hard drive, any chance you can try another just for testing purposes.
or even leave it disconnected, and make yourself a bootable USB stick with, say, Linux Mint or Puppy or any distro you can get your hands on.
then try booting from the stick.

but not having a screen to see what is happening makes things hard!

with the lead up to this point, you may just have a failed laptop. o_O

I just opened my laptop today, When I turned it on it didn’t turn on it’s LCD anymore. The fan is still running and the lights on the left of the laptop still turns on as well. I’ll try to take it to the repair shop when I can to see if they can do anything about it, might take a while before then though.

                  how old is the unit?
or in other words - is it worth it?

From what I remember, it should be 8 years old at this point since it is a hand me down, some tiny bits of plastic keep breaking off the laptop itself so it’s probably signaling it’s time already. I think being able to use it would be with very convenient though so I’m looking for ways to prolong it further.

You probably can attach an external monitor to the laptop.

How long did you remove the cmos battery.
                        Unplug power
                        Unplug laptop battery
Press the on button a couple of times to discharge
Remove the cmos battery for 5 mins then replace.
                        If no luck
                        Do above steps agian
Leave cmos out for 24 hours

I removed it for more than 10 minutes
I did try unplugging the charger and battery for a while and discharging it.

I’ll try leaving out the cmos battery for a day though

When this first started I used a tv. The issue now is that, the tv doesn’t show anything anymore after I used restore to default in the BIOS.
Although I may be misunderstanding something. I was using the HDMI to connect to the tv, does it make a difference if I use the other slots that are also used for external monitors?
