    windows install on a new empty drive

    Hello, im not sure where to post this but I was wondering if its possible to just install a new and empty m.2 ssd, start up the device, and put in a usb drive with windows installation and set up windows that way

      alright, il try it once the new ssd arrives. im doing this because my laptop is stuck in a infinite power loop and shuts off right away. it started doing so after i left it to do an automatic windows update and shutdown. i came back the next morning and the power loop began. i tried a fresh windows install with a usb drive with windows but it would still only start for a split second before shutting off right away so the software couldint even run

        That has zero to do with what you mentioned in your OP and had veeg been aware of such an issue I`m sure that his reply would have been different.

        If your present issue/s are power related what makes you think that putting in a new SSD will solve it.[/color]
