    Laptop battery not charging

Hi, I have an issue with another computer. I didn’t use my laptop for 2 months and now, when plugged, it’s working, but the battery isn’t charging at all. I’ve never had such a problem with it. The battery is integrated, so I can’t take it out. What else can I do? Thank you in advance.

Info that I am finding says that the notebook is five years old so it is possible that the battery has expired, how to replace them is shown here

If the battery has expired there is no other fix other than replacing the battery, the alternative is to live with the notebook the way that it is.

        You are welcome btw

It’s weird because when I left it 2 months ago, it didn’t have any problems, I went on vacation, nobody else used it during my absence and now I can’t get it to a normal state. I watched the video, I’m not a pro, so I’m a bit hesitant on opening everything and replacing the battery, so isn’t there anything else I can do before that? Updating BIOS maybe?

As per the above, a battery that will not charge or will not hold a charge is dead, updating the BIOS would change zero.

Best ask a local tech to take a look at this for you.

Ok, thank you, I’ll see what I can do with the battery. Actually, as my laptop is 5 years old, do you know by chance if batteries are still being produced for this laptop type or brand and there aren’t only the used ones sold as brand new?

Actually I have another issue with this notebook. I don’t know if I should create another thread but some time ago it started getting slower. I thought that one of the issues causing it might have been the adblocker I was using. Recently I changed from Adblock for Firefox to uBlock Origin. Right after this change, for a day my notebook was working almost like brand new and then it became even slower than before. I don’t know if it might somehow be related to the battery because it got slower way before that but is it the adblocker’s fault or does it point to another issue? Thank you in advance.

Is this the same laptop that you are having https://pchelpforum.net/t/pc-downloa...5/#post-155837

If so anything else that need to be done will have to wait until that is completed as to not hinder their assistance.

ok thank you and yes, you will need to start a new thread for the other issue.

As far as the battery goes only suggest getting an OEM and not an off brand they never work correctly from both research and experience. Most batteries are made specific to that mobile device.
