Unknown Battery Issue

This is my first post on here, so apologies if I don’t include enough information.

My laptop is an ROG Strix G1513IE
I recently installed a new ssd, which was my first time opening up the computer. I attempted to unplug the battery before messing with anything, and I think I messed something up. I couldn’t unplug it, and went ahead with the ssd installation.
When I finish and close the laptop back up, I find I’m unable to power on the laptop.
However, when I plug the laptop in, it boots up with no issue. Battery at 70%. I can unplug the laptop and it stays on
But I still can’t turn it on without it being plugged up. And the battery won’t charge. It’s just stuck at 70%. It won’t go down either
I tried running some troubleshooters, specifically the MyAsus troubleshooter which found an issue, but revealed no information about it, only an option to send a request ticket.

So I have no idea what the issue could be. Let me know if I need to provide more information, and I can also open up the laptop again and take pics of the battery, connector, etc.

You most likely undid the battery connector enough so it is not making correct contact.
Open it back up and try reseating the battery connector

Thanks for the response. I opened it back up, and was able to power it on if I was pressing the battery connection down. Unable to turn it back on after turning off and not pressing down connection
Connector is coming off as shown in the picture below. Would I be able to solder it back on or use electrical tape to keep it down? Or will I have to replace the battery all together?

I would try tape
Make sure it is clean and use a good quality tape. No a 20 rolls for $2:00 type of thing.
Those connectors are a B**ch to undo. I am not surprised with what happened.
Not sure if Liquid Electrical tape would work.
You have pulled the connector off the circut board so a new battery will not help.
If you are good at soldreing you could try a thin film of solder.
The problem is the connector is probably plastic so heat could be an issue.
You would have to disconnect the battery first.
