Half of my laptop screen flickers intermittently - it happens for a bit then goes away, and is of varying degrees of severity when it does happen. It has only started happening recently. Iβve had a look around and think itβs a connector issue, Iβve updated all my drivers etc, and often work with a screen connected to my laptop and there has been no flickering on the second screen / monitor, regardless of whether it was connected via dock or straight to monitor via HDMI. Laptop is Dell Latitude 3490. Thank you all lovely tech support people!
Good troubleshooting done on your behalf and unfortunately I can only second your suspicions in that this looks to be a video cable/ribbon problem, loose or damaged meaning that a visual inspection will be required.
