unable to erase ssd for fresh windows install

I recently purchased a new hp laptop that came with samsung ssd(mzvlq512hblu-00bh1) but I am unable to erase the drive using samsung magician software ,is there any other alternative to erase the drive or get samsung magician working ?

is the SSD in question the boot drive, or an external drive?
why does it need erasing - are you selling it, or reinstalling Windows?
if reloading Windows, during the install process, it offers the chance to delete all current partitions, I’d be taking that approach.
