Hi , I plugged in my power supply to my Msi laptop when it was on low power while it was plugged by into tv screen via hdmi . The screen immediately started making a static noise while the display also displayed badly and staticky . After turning off and restarting the display was not working but the laptop was picking up itβs connected . Now the screen connected but barely displays image which is staticky before it cuts out too a black screen. Screen seems to be displaying normally on my dedicated laptop screen. Iβm concerned that somehow plugging my laptop in has damaged my hdmi port . Any help to resolve this issue would be great .

I have my doubts that plugging your laptop in would have damaged the ports, but itβs worth checking, try using a completely separate (functioning) screen and display cable. This could be a monitor, or another TV, whichever you have at your disposal, if you suffer from the same issues, it has to be the laptop.
It is not fully clear which screen was producing static, was it the TV?
What operating system/version are you on?

It does detect second screen . I am able to switch between duplicate and the like . Screen doesnβt display or display is glitchy / filled with static.[/color][/color][/color]Comment

A few things:- You are running low on system space, try deleting some old files/programs and running the following programs, try to keep at least 20-25% of your disks as free space.
Run Disk Cleanup (check all the boxes) this will delete things such as your recycling bin, so make sure you donβt have any files you want to keep.
Run Defragment and Optimize Drives, run this on your drives.- Disable any overclocking or changes to power/performance settings
Turn off XMP/any overclocking you may have done (if any)
Settings > System > Power and sleep > Additional power settings
Make sure your power plan is set to balanced, anything else could tamper with the wrong settings and cause issues.- Check for Operating System Corruption
Right click on the Windows logo in the bottom left and select Windows Powershell (Admin)
Run these three commands separately:

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
These will take a while to run, do not close out of Powershell while they are running, if one fails then move onto the next and then loop back around.
Note: Make sure you have a system backup before you make all these changes, save any important files of folders. While these changes shouldnβt cause any issues, better to be safe than sorry.
Once you have completed all of these tasks, plug your laptop in, restart it (using the restart option in the power menu) and re-test.
Finally, is there are particular reason you are running Kaspersky? Windows Defender + a bit of precaution will keep you safe and prevent extra antivirus/antimalware from gumming up your computer.

If the display works fine with another computer, I would think that HDMI port on your laptop is gone.
I would test the exact same cord and monitor one more time on a different computer, if you can find a USB C to HDMI adapter, I would pick it up to test with.
Otherwise you might be best off to take it in to a local pc place and have them look at it.Comment
