Laptop does not detect second external monitor

    Hi guys,
I have a HP Pavilion LAPTOP-SJQ004N0 with two graphic cards: one internal (Intel UHD Graphics 620) and one GeForce GTX 1050 Ti. My Laptop has got one HDMI slot and one USB C slot. I attached now one Monitor via HDMI and the HDMI Input of the Laptop to the Notebook to have a second monitor. I bought now another monitor that I wanna attach to my notebook as the notebook screen is too small for my office. So I bought a docking station as well. I attached now this second monitor via HDMI to the docking station and this docking station via USB C to my notebook but my notebook cannot detect/find this monitor. But with my partnerโ€™s notebook it works. My partnerโ€™s notebook has a โ€œDโ€ next to the USB C )which means probably Display Port). I think now that the USB-C of my notebook does not support DisplayPort. Is there any opportunity how I could attach the second monitor to my notebook or do I need another computer?
putting 2 hdmiโ€™s of each monitor into an adapter to one HDMI and that one into the notebook? but this is then probably only the duplicate mode and not extending the screens
    Thanks for your answer.

I did respond to this yesterday or the day before, so I donโ€™t know what happened thereโ€ฆ

basically, have you tried a USB-C โ€˜chargeโ€™ cable.
they seem to have a little lightning icon on the ends.

a while ago I was trying to get someoneโ€™s docking station to work for the same reason, for him to connect external screens to the laptop and after trying a different USB-C cable, it was working.
despite the docking station being externally powered!
the only difference between to two cables was one had a little charge or lightning icon on the plug.
I believe these are actually Thunderbolt cables.
