    Lenovo touchpad not responding

    Hi,
it’s my first thread, so here i go:
I have a Lenovo Legion y530-17irh, most of the time i use external mouse and the touchpad was disabled by the Fn+F11 combination, but recently i had to use touchpad and it’s unresponsive (buttons too), I tried using the same Fn combination to enable it but nothing happens, i tried using Lenovo Hotkeys, but still the same. There is no relevant driver for the touchpad (through Lenovo driver page). I tried installing Synaptics and Elan drivers to no avail. Tried using IObit driver booster, but every driver is up to date. In the Device manager i have found some hardware that cannot start (Error Code 10), it’s “Lenovo keyboard device”, may it be the culprit? I tried rewriting it’s driver, updating BIOS, but the problem persists. It’s hardware Id is: ACPI\VEN_MSFT&DEV_0001&SUBSYS_ELAN0001. I tried installing the driver for it from the driverindentifier.com, but still nothing. I am not sure if it’s related to my problem but i have no other conclusions besides faulty touchpad. Have anybody had the same problem?

The device ( Keypad ) may have been disabled in the BIOS somehow.

Run the step 2 diagnostics from here

The newer Elan/Synaptics driver seems to break the touchpad settings so that you cannot turn the touchpad on/off or use various scroll options.
Is there a new Touchpad entry under Settings>Devices? Are there any of those settings there?

Try installing the Microsoft precision touchpad driver:
https://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/6616...on-windows-10/ This will add extra touchpad options under Settings>Devices>Touchpad.

        I have found a solution:
Device manager → click on problematic Lenovo keyboard device → Update driver → Browse my computer for drivers → Let me pick → I2C HID Device → Next
Now the touchpad is working and i can enable/disable it with Fn+F11.

        Thank You for replies!
