Hello. I have a dell e5540 latidude… It wont start up, the power led indicator is dimly lit, screen or other components are not running but a couple lights only go on for 3 seconds…
Whats could be the problem… Because i tried replacing the ac adapter, ram’s and hard drive but no response?
can you remove the battery and try just starting it on mains power?
also try starting it without any memory, you should get some beeps as it tries to boot.
it’s 7 years old, do you know it’s history?
you’ve been the only owner?
Ummm tried that sm tym ago but no sound… Plus the power indicator is dim everytime i try to boot it.
Haha yap its old but i managed to keep it neat tho. Im the only owner
so it had been working until recently?
or you digging it out of storage to resurrect it?
so you have tried removing the memory, and got no sound, what about removing the battery?
removing the memory would make it fail the POST process, but with you getting no sound would suggest a hardware failure, most like with the motherboard.
