Does an additional monitor increase the work load on the laptop?

    Laptop ThinkPad T540p
    Intel Core i5 2.5 GHz
    4 GB DDR3-SDRAM
    256 GB SSD
    39.6 cm (15.6") monitor
    Windows 7 Professional

This is my back up laptop. I use my desktop PC for everyday work. Not much work but editing images, watching news on Youtube, and Facebook.

I am an amateur photographer, shoot RAW & post process the files in Photoshop cc 2021, Adobe Camera Raw.

The screen of ThinkPad is too small, 39.6 cm (15.6"), for viewing images. I need a 55.88 cm (22") screen. I am thinking to plug a 55.88 cm monitor to the laptop.

How much more extra work load does the large monitor increase to the laptop? Will it cause any issues?

    Your advices please?

    Thank you.

    will cause no issues.
technically, it will physically add more load to the graphics card as the card now has to run 2 monitors, but it would be so slight, you will not notice.
