Help with my hp laptop

Background

Me and my brother have the same model computer the HP 15-da200 which we purchased at the same time. However in games the computers where super laggy and actions took forever. So I first replaced my HDD for a SSD (Samsung 870 QVO 1tb) and upgrade the ram from a stick of 8 gb to a stick of 8 gb and a stick of 16 gb. Later on my mother got him a an SSD (Samsung 870 EVO 1 tb) and same ram configuration. Both times I used DiskGenius to transfer everything over from the HDD to the SSD.

Here are the modified specs for each computer.

The Problem

We have been trying to play Minecraft together however he averages 30 fps with random spikes of as low as 1 fps with the same settings as me and I average 60 fps with no lag spikes. Same thing happens with no programs running in the background and after a restart. I have also tried doing a fresh install of windows. I have also tried running Intels latest UHD Graphics driver. And I have also repasted the cpu with thermal grizzly Kryonaut and no change for worse or better. At this point I have no idea what to do.

To confirm this here are a few ways to check

Have you read the information on the HDD to make sure?
We all know how accurate windows can be.

Look under Storage and Disk in System Information see if it reports the same for the SSD

Can also find the drive information in Device Manager and Disk Manager

Finally, by opening Admin Command Prompt and typing (copy and paste) to get the drives information.
wmic diskdrive get model,serialNumber,size,mediaType[/COLOR]

I’ll get my brother to run speccy and post it in here when he finish. But for the Hard Drive I know it’s the right drive cause when I replaced the drive months ago I wiped the HDD and am using it as a external HDD for family photos. But here’s a screenshot of task manager and device manager.

Depending on what speccy shows us you may have to look physically at the drive and or look in the BIOS to see what shows there.

that second drive is a virtual one. I think it is related to the microsoft gaming service.

to throw out some idea regarding the FPS drops, try removing TeamViewer.
and to check, you fresh installed Win11, not repair installed, and you wiped the drive first, it wasn’t an over-the-top install?

otherwise I’m out - FPS drops are a nightmare to troubleshoot.

i just added teamveiwer cause im in college now and my brother is back at home however the problem excised prior to that.
How do you mean check the install. also this problem was occurring on windows 10 as well. and no i didnt wipe it first i let windows wipe it its self

all I can add is if you have your PC as lean and clean as you can make it, that’s half the battle.
sadly, the other half may be outside your control, like, number of users of your network, bandwidth, line attenuation, signal to noise ratio, etc.
but things you can control are;

[li]reboot modem/router/pc[/li][li]delete restore points[/li][li]turn off hibernation[/li][li]empty web browser cache[/li][li]delete system temp files[/li][li]scan Windows for system corruption[/li][li]scan drive for file corruption[/li][li]disable unwanted scheduled tasks[/li][li]disable unnecessary startup services[/li][li]disable scheduled defragging[/li][li]trim any SSD’s[/li][li]turn off Timeline and Activity History, and all things Microsoft Telemetry based[/li][li]empty recycle bin[/li][li]delete log files and error reports[/li][li]remove old Windows Updates files[/li][li]cleanup software installer and distribution caches[/li][li]delete unwanted programs[/li][li]pause any online cloud storage synchronising (OneDrive, DropBox)[/li][/ul]
CCleaner or Glary Disk Cleaner or the inbuilt cleanmgr command can do most of those points.
ShutUp10 by O&O Software can stop a lot of telemetry items.

However it’s not the network cause it lags on single player games that don’t require internet plus his computer in general is slow compared to mine which again has the same specs excluding the fact that he has a supposedly slightly better SSD being a EVO instead of a QVO. The speed of the actions remind me of when he had a HDD however the computer boots like it’s running on a SSD. Which I find super strange.

Plus it’s still slow even connected to a gigabit lan connection.

Why are you using teamviewer?

Why not use something like Discord used less memory and resources.

Power Profile
Active power scheme: HP Recommended
Hibernation: Enabled

Let’s change the Power Scheme to Balanced and disable the Hibernation

Open an Admin Command Prompt type
powercfg.exe /hibernate off

Have you tried resetting the network at all to see if that helps?

Open Windows Settings.
Click on the Network & internet tab.
Open the Advanced network settings option.
Now select the Network reset sub-menu.
Click on the Reset now button.
Select the Yes button to continue.

The only way to validate that the drive is not a Seagate and is a Samsung is to open the system and see what the label says on the drive.

have you confirmed this by unplugging the ethernet cable and running the single player game offline?
