Save just the Intel chipset drivers to a USB thumbdrive.

          Clean install Windows.

Install the chipset drivers that you saved.

Install any other drivers as directed by Lenovo in their guide here

Do not be tempted to update the BIOS else you may end up with a rather expensive paperweight instead of a notebook.

Depends what the back up stuff is, if personal data like pictures, videos and music files then yes but Windows should always be on it`s own partition away from personal data so as to avoid corruption, it not only protects Windows but also makes it easier to back up and/or reinstall.

                      no worries.
just means you have to stay near a power source for the time being.

also, on top of what Phillpower2 has already said, when getting a new battery, also check its manufactured date.
a new battery, still in its packaging, never been used but was made 2 years ago will be crap.
the lithium in them starts to oxidise as soon as they are put together and that’s what makes them not hold charge for as long as they used to when freshly minted.

I’ll close this for now as the new unit could take a while.
