I was transferring files from my friends go pro to and external hdd both were D drives it was acting slightly wonky at first but then started working I didnt realize till after transferring several files that my internal D drive is no longer showing at all nor are any files that are on my D drive accessible. Its automatically being hidden in device manager but doesnt show up at all in disk management. When I look at the properties for the drive it says code 45 hardware is not connected, to make sure I opened my laptop up, disconnected, dusted, and reconnected to no avail.
Fixed it by changing sata setting in bios to Intel advance something, when it failed to boot windows I switched it back to whatever the normal one was and my hdd starting working like nothing ever happened.
