Long time no see folks! Guess that is a good thing. Two questions: Best way to delete bloatware from new laptop, Second, suggestion for erasing data before donating old laptop.

I usually go into the uninstall section and manually select the software and programs. I know that there are programs out there that can also assist.
With any removal using third party software use caution have seen some come with more bloat or removes stuff that is needed by the system to run property.

Rusty’s, the OS is ms Windows 10. Basically want to erase/factory reset before donating the laptop to Goodwill. Thanks.

for me, the same answer for both your questions.

removing bloatware - reload Win10 from USB image. not only removes all traces of bloatware but also any settings they have tweaked.
donating laptop - again, reload Win10 from USB image, deleting partitions when offered during installation process

            no worries.
I realise it’s a big hammer approach, but it guarantees results.

Just do not forget to download the drives that way there is no issues later on.
