Laptop doesn't power on at all after ssd upgrade. May have bricked laptop. Need help!

I have a Thinkpad T440 that has a boot drive on a physical laptop HDD. The laptop has a slot to add an M.2 2422 SSD, so I bought one with the intent to move the boot drive to that using a cloning software like Macrium reflect. So I opened the laptop, installed the SSD, closed the laptop up, and now it’s showing no signs of life. It’s not powering on at all. I tried taking the SSD out, but that didn’t work. I tried using the reset button in the board. That didn’t work. I tried disconnecting both internal and external batteries and holding the power button down to drain the board. That didn’t work.

Did I brick the laptop? I really hope I didn’t. How can I fix this?

do you see anything on the screen when powering up?
can you get into the BIOS menu, either F2, Del, Esc, F10 or whatever your laptop requires.

what is the age of the unit?
