CPU overheats and keyboard not working after drivers install

Hello everyone! I hope you are doing okay.
I’m going to explain my problem. So i just bought an asus rog gaming laptop. I started it installed the windows updates, asus updates etc. Everything was fine perfectly okay. So my headset microphone wasn’t working so i plugged it and started Driver Booster he downloaded 2go of drivers and installed them, and after the reboot everything went crazy the cpu was sooo hot like 80 degrees for nothing just sitting in the desktop with a new clean computer and the keyboard wasn’t working also. I tried to reinitialize the pc from windows settings. But the problem stayed (i think that the endomagged drivers are still in) . I downloaded driver booster again and tried to remove the drivers one by one started with the keyboard one and it worked for the keyboard but can’t figure out for the cpu going crazy. I’m thinking about buying a new licence of Windows 10 and installing it what do you guys think?
    Thank you.

    Hello

If you can not remove or correct what driver booster has done, you may have to.. Win 10 is suppose to have a program on it to do a fresh reboot.

In our experience here never ever use a third party driver program like driver booster or any other third party driver program.. Always use the manufacture’s driver base web site..

Hello veeg, thanks for your reply.
Yep i learned the hard way that was a big mistake using a third party program. I tried reinstalling windows from windows settings and it deleted everything but the System32 stayed like it was ( With driver booster drivers ) So i just bought win 10 pro edition and i will install it normally everything will get back to normal. I just hope that my cpu or other things didn’t get damaged..

Update : So i installed a new clean windows 10 and the problem is the same. Just started sitting at the desktop with a clean and new computer out of the box : fans loud as hell, cpu 80 degrees, keyboard hot as hell. That means that it’s not Driver Booster the problem. So what is the problem ? The laptop is an Asus Zephyrus M15. I7-10750h RTX 2070 Max q.

Where did the install medial come from?
Did you install the Chipset first then the drivers in the proper order?

Sorry i didn’t understand your question.
If you are talking about the first time the problem appeared, i installed the windows updates then asus updated some drivers (i used the app that is included in windows myAsus) then used driver booster to install the drivers and that’s when everything happened.

STOP USING THIS POS it is the reason your system is crapping out.

Go to the systems manufacture and get the drivers.

Emm. I didn’t use it again i am just talking about the first time i had the problem. I didn’t use it again after reinstalling Win10 in case you didn’t understand me. Since the windows 10 is all fresh with not drivers installed or anything else, is it still normal that it gets to 95° celsius when being idle on the desktop? I think it’s definitely a hardware problem.

just to clarify, you created a bootable USB drive with the latest Win10 image?
then used that USB stick to load a fresh copy of Win10?
and one of the first screens during that reinstall asks to wipe the drive, did you do that by deleting all the partitions listed?

if you have done all that, and the laptop is still too hot, you either have a faulty unit or (unlikely) that is the unit’s default state.

                          • You created a bootable USB drive with the latest Win10 image? Yes, using the media creation tool from microsoft website it creates a bootable usb drive for you, without needing any other program.
                          • then used that USB stick to load a fresh copy of Win10? Yes fresh install of Win10 using the USB.
                          • and one of the first screens during that reinstall asks to wipe the drive, did you do that by deleting all the partitions listed? Yes i deleted all the partitions.

And yes after all that it’s still running very hot even reaching 95° sometimes just being idle on the desktop. And the PC is empty not installed a single program. (Only HWMonitor)
I think its a faulty unit like you said.

from the evidence, I would agree.
claim it under warranrty it and see how the next one performs.

Pssst… stay away from any program/website that offers to check and update any driver.
from my experience, they are all made by snake-oil peddlers, and usually contain malware, viruses, or just simply don’t work, and more often than not, make things a whole lot worse!

I learned that the hard way but I’m going to stay away from that kind of programs, big mistake. Thanks for your help mate.
