Laptop key and sticky completely popped out - need advice

I’ve had my laptop for a long time and it has been through daily use. Up until recently, all the keys were fine. The e key popped off - no bid deal I can still use the sticky portion underneath. Well, tonight it came off, leaving me with a flat e. Funny enough, the e button itself still works if I apply a little force. I already ordered a replacement key, but I’ve never had to replace a key before. Will the replacement come with the sticky thing? If not, what is it called so I can look into buying one?

If you have no clue what I’m talking about, I can provide pictures.

yeah, a picture would be great.
and you can always use a USB keyboard until it is resolved.

In the screenshot with the E key, the thing on the left side is the sticky thing that was in the keyboard itself. Even after the E key popped out, that thing stayed in and still worked until last night when it came off.

the replacement probably won’t come with a ‘sticky thing’.
but it can be glued back on with a contact adhesive.
don’t use super glue or Araldite or anything that sets hard.

Can I buy a replacement “sticky thing”? Like…I don’t even know exactly how it goes on. What is that thing even called?

hell even double sided tape should suffice.
like sticky tape but double sided.
not the thick heavy duty double sided stuff used to mount things.
