MSI GP60 won't boot up.

Hello!
Recently my laptop (MSi GP60 2QE leopard) no longer boots. The fan would spin at max speed but no indicator lights would come on except the battery charging one. The power light will flash blue and change to orange which is normal till the pc starts up completely and go back to blue but now it stays orange.
I removed different components such as the ram / hdd / ssd and tried to start it but there was never a beep sound. I read online that that’s caused by a faulty motherboard so I had ordered a new one and replaced it. However I still have the same issue. Computer won’t boot but the fan doesn’t blow at max rpm anymore.
According to the seller it is a new and functioning board (bought it off eBay from a german parts store).
I have also tried using a different power supply but no joy..
The specs of the boards:
Original - i5 procesor, Some intel HD gpu (4600 I think), nvidia geforce 940M

New one - i7 processor, nvidia geforce gtx 870m

I use a 250gb ssd and a 1tb sata hdd, 8gb ram card.

What is the make and model of the motherboard?

Did you make sure that that RAM was compatible with the new motherboard?

I believe the compatibility is the same but not 100% sure. The ram is DDR3

I forgot to mention that with the new board i had to solder a cable port which was on my old board and not the new (shown in picture). Does someone know what these ports are?

Red is the piece I transfered to the new board.

Blue my computer originally doesn’t use (don’t have a wire/cable for it. Excuse that it’s slightly melted as I’m still learning to solder properly and I used a heat gun).

I noticed that after cleaning the soldered port, my hdd indicator light will come on. Initially the computer didn’t power up at all, just the power button light was blinking blue and orange.

You just hosed that motherboard.

There are tiny hair like wires that run along the board and can fracture from that type of heat.

Best thing I would suggest it to replace the board.

If it got hot enough to melt something than it got hot enough to do damage where the motherboard is now a paper weight.

There is no telling what other damage the heat gun has done.

Thanks for the response. Is there some way to test if it is fried with a multimeter to be sure?
The issue I have with finding other replacement board is non of them have that same connector which is why I’m wondering what the two different types are (red and blue box in the picture). If it’s the same it would just be an issue of changing the cable no?

Take it to a proper repair shop to have it properly tested. They will probably tell you the same thing.

Changing form one motherboard to another does not mean the parts are interchangeable.

As you can see from the chart there are several types of DDR3

as far as changing out a cable that may have worked.
