    Keyboard Issue

    Hi,

I have a Samsung Laptop Model # NP-470R5E-K01UB, I am having an issue with my keyboard keys, some of them are not working, most of them are bottom keys like Z, V, M, arrow keys, digit 1, space-bar etc. so i replaced my keyboard and still same keys are not working on new keyboard. What it could be? Any help will be appreciated! Thanks!

replaced with a new or used keyboard?
    original part or generic?
    age of laptop?
    warranty still?

For starters I’d say maybe the ribbon cable from the K/B to the motherboard is to blame, but you have already replaced the K/B (but what about the ribbon cable?).
Try adding a different language (e.g. UK) and see if it responds.
Is there any external USB K/B that you can try?
      Try resetting your system.

And: When did it start behaving erratically?

        Hi,

        Thanks for your response.

Actually, I have two Samsung laptops with same model #s (2013), one laptop has LCD issue and other laptop has keyboard issue. The one has LCD issue is working on external LCD only and it has working keyboard, so I use this keyboard to the other laptop the one has keyboard keys issue and after replacing the keyboard still having the same issue, keys are not working. External usb keyboard keys are working just fine.

Also, I tried to replace the LCD from the laptop has bad keyboard but good LCD, that did not work either, it’s working on external LCD only, i tried to changing the display cables etc. but didn’t work either.

As you appear to be technically savvy an willing, have you tried a BIOS update?
