Laptop Screen Saturation Issue

I recently had to replace my laptop screen for an unrelated issue. What has happened is now the contrast is screwed up so when I’m close to the monitor the colours are all too white and washed out but if I lean back in my chair blacks and blues are almost indistinguishable as if the contrast is too low. Is there any settings I can use to correct this or is it just what happens with cheap crappy monitors. I tried using the windows display settings but it didn’t allow me to manually adjust the contrast.

What do you mean by “cheap monitors”?

Have you connected the Notebook via HDMI to a monitor and you get the washed out colors, or is the Notebook screen itself that has the issue?

Is it possible to post the model/maker of the Notebook?

It is the actual screen itself which is integrated into the laptop so there are no buttons to change the saturation on the hardware. The model is a ge62 6qf Apache Pro. What I meant by cheap monitors is that the screen replacement including the new screen and labour cost was £75 which seemed very cheap so I wanted to know if they had just replaced it with the cheapest model available and this effect is just common in cheap screens or is there something I can do to remedy this

This clearly shows that the repair was done incorrectly.

LCD panels will show washed out colors if there is reassure behind them, which suggest to me that the panel was not the proper Part number for your Notebook, or was improperly assembled.

See this video here the green component at the bottom of the panel is called Backlight, and is the source of similar issues.

While MSI has a good name for Notebooks, I can say from personal experience -I see about 30 Notebooks/Desktops every week- that whoever performs their repairs is not that good (and I do not care if they learn about it, as I have personally returned “repaired” items to be re-repaired).

If the replacement was done outside of MSI you should contact the person who did it, asking for replacement.
