Recently my ASUS X550LB went through a BSoD. Before it could finish, the laptop suddently rebooted into BIOS, which it couldn’t exit. After repeatedly searching the internet for solutions, I opened up my hdd and I found the heads stuck on the platter. I put them in place and even though the beeping noise is gone, it still can’t boot. I downloaded an ISO windows and got it onto my usb. I tried to get into safe mode, but I couldn’t find it. Is there anything I can do that wouldn’t require money?
Unless done in a clean room a HDD is totally useless if opened up, slightest spec of dust and the drive is history, having to move the heads on the HDD suggests that it was toast anyway.
