Ok… so i have this new laptop. I’m getting huge fps drops after few minutes when i’m playing a game… i’ve tried anything… i’ve disabled hyperthreading , intel turbo boost , even undervolting my cpu.. nothing works. With an i5 8300H , 1050 Ti , and 8gb ram i thought that i could run gta v , BF 1 , PUBG with no problems…
Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.
To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:
In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.
In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.
Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.
Change the Windows Power Plan to High Performance, your discrete GTX 1050 Ti needs this and the notebook to be powering the notebook, the notebook will revert to the Intel HD video and poor game play as a consequence.

Sorry for that reply. I am new here.. i have a single 8 gb-ram. Should i put another one with 16GB with same frequency?.. and regarding the cpu..i don’t know what to do
No worries, it just that we have to read every reply which can be time consuming and ultimately helps nobody.
Your CPU is adequate but you do need to add a second stick of compatible RAM as the single stick is causing a bottleneck.
You could leave the Power Plan set to Balanced while only the 8GB RAM is present, one you have two 8GB sticks you should 100% change the Power Plan to High Performance.
use the Crucial system scanner tool to see what RAM is suggested, no need to purchase from there just make sure that you get RAM that matches the specs there
Ok sir. Thank you so much for your time. Your guidance was very helpfull. I managed to take a look at my Nvidia Control Panel settings. I did some changes. Now everything it’s fine , no frame drops , no sttutering , nothing. I will also upgrade my Ram but anyway , thank you again- so far you are the best guide for me , for us , those with problems regarding laptops and OS problems. I am going to post here my fix , hope i will help others
