Unplugging Laptop Causes It To Turn Off

Hi. Whenever I unplug my laptop it just shuts down immediately. Anyway to resolve this? I have a Lenovo N580.

This indicates a problem with your battery.
    Open a command prompt, type
    powercfg/energy and hit enter.
After 60 seconds a report will be generated.
Go to the folder where it is saved and see the results.

Sleep states allow the computer to enter low-power modes after a period of inactivity. The S3 sleep state is the default sleep state for Windows platforms. The S3 sleep state consumes only enough power to preserve memory contents and allow the computer to resume working quickly. Very few platforms support the S1 or S2 Sleep states.

The battery stored less than 40% of the Designed Capacity the last time the battery was fully charged.

even ignoring that, the battery is 7 years old.
Li-on’s have a general working life of around 2 years before they seriously start not holding charge.

simply time for a new battery.
or, for a 7yo rig, maybe time for replacing the all thing .

There must be someone out there willing to pay for a new battery…I’d say try to sell it.
