Lenovo Legion Y530

So, i’ve bought lenovo legion Y530 in february 2019, it worked very well, but last week I decided to play GTA V with my friends (like we often do) and my fps were dropping hard. I were playing on High, with nearly 70fps but after this thing happened I’ve played on normal and haven’t got even stable 60fps. Before that occured i bought Battlefield V which i couldn’t play until i uprgrade my Drivers. So i did just that with GeForce Experience. It was running pretty good, no lags or fps drops. But after two or three days i’ve couldn’t get it running and my other games where running slow too. I’ve looked up some solutions on the forums and found out, that i shouldn’t be using GeForce Experience so i downloaded just the driver i needed from the nvidia web. It’s better now but i still experience lower performence like i did before updating drivers.

Windows 10
Procesor - Intel core i5 - 8300H CPU 2.30GHz
Graphic Card - Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050

Welcome to PCHF MadoX,

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

Active power scheme: Razer Cortex Power Plan

No good ever comes of running stuff like this and especially on notebooks that have their own recommended power settings that are determined by the BIOS.

Get rid of the Razer software and change the Windows Power Plan to High Performance when gaming and Balanced when you are not gaming.

The only other things we can see in Speccy is that you have high memory usage for a computer that is not under any load and you are getting low on free storage space on the C: partition, the latter needs taking care of first and as to why is explained below;

RAM
Memory
Size: 8068 MBytes
Physical Memory
Memory Usage: 65 %

Partition 1
Partition ID: Disk #0, Partition #1
Disk Letter: C:
File System: NTFS
Volume Serial Number: 6CD462DF
Size: 117 GB
Used Space: 101 GB (86%)
Free Space: 16,5 GB (14%)

For Windows to be able to run efficiently and to be able to update you need to have between 20 and 25% of the partition or drive available as free storage space at all times, if you don`t you risk Windows becoming corrupt or not being able to update which puts you at risk of malware attack.

Data only storage devices should not be allowed to get any lower than 10% of free storage space of the full capacity of the drive/partition on the drive, this also to avoid data corruption.

Please note that storage devices can physically fail if the amount of free storage space is allowed to drop below the required 10 or 20/25% minimum.

Uninstall as many unused programs, games, videos and music files as you can, post back when you have between 20 and 25% free storage on the C: drive/partition and we can go from there.

Okay, i freed up some space but still can’t get it running for at least 60fps (GTA). When i start the game it’s okay for about 5-10 minutes, but then my fps are getting lower and lower, i can’t even play it if i’m in some kind of sand or something that produces particles.. like hitting something. I’ve never had problems with that before.
Sorry that i took so long to reply but i was kinda busy.

And I wanted to ask you if it’s okay that when I start a task manager and go to performance I see that my processor has been going for seven days straight, but I’m turning off my laptop every night.

According to Speccy Last Boot Time: 22. 10. 2019 20:54:33

Are you shutting Windows down completely or putting it into Hibernation.

We are still seeing the Razer garbage on the computer, assistance works two ways and it is important that you do as we ask or let us know otherwise - you also appear to have changed the Windows Power Plan to Balanced and not High Performance as was suggested, your dedicated GPU needs the extra power when you are gaming.

Well, i’m using the windows icon in the left corner to turn my laptop off, also i uninstalled the razer cortex, so I don’t really know what to do about it, and yeah.. I totally forgot to put it on high performance, i was playing on balanced.

Not sure what is going on with the the boot information, strange

Below is a review of the Razer stuff and here is a benchmark report, as a rule of thumb, anything that promises to speed up your PC, don`t install it.

Honestly, I didn’t notice any significant differences either. Razer Cortex turns off background applications that may make your computer run a little bit slower (almost noticeable). It also cleans your RAM by deleting cache, which is something that doesn’t provide much help in my opinion. Overall, Razer Cortex is just one of those software that promise to make your PC run times faster but ends up making it run slower in the process.

So i have read the review and yeah, I see what this does, I’ve uninstalled it. But about that processor running all the time, can’t that be some kind of virus, i heard there are some viruses that can just take your performance to mine bitcoin. ( i’m not that good in computers, but i’m just asking.) And i just wanted to thank you for the support you gave me.. At the beginning even the sound was lagging, i don’t really know why but even if i’d play some song on spotify it would lag, now I’m not experiencing any of this stuff, but i still don’t think it’s the same that it was before all this happened.

Going offline soon as it is getting late here and I have an early start tomorrow.

We can check what is going on with any processes but if it looks like malware I will need to call in a security expert.

Download Process Explorer which you can obtain from here

Save it to your desktop then run it (Vista or Win7 - right click and Run as Administrator).

View, Select Column, check Verified Signer, OK

Options, Verify Image Signatures

Click twice on the CPU column header to arrange things by CPU usage, this will put the services with the highest CPU usage at the top of the log.

Wait a minimum of a minute then grab a screenshot and attach it to your next reply for us
