Why is my laptop making sizzling noises and a bit warm?

I have an acer laptop I brought back last year. The noise hadn’t started until yesterday. During random times when I boot up, do something on the laptop, or open programs it will make a random slight sizzling noise near the fan area and the fan gets a bit warm then cools down. All in a span of 4 seconds. It’s the type of laptop that everything is internal/everything except hard drive and ram is hidden.

What could it be? Should I attempt to fix it if there is a way or should I just get it fixed under paid warrenty?

it could well be a simple thing, but why play around if you are not confident or experienced.
that is why the hidden cost of warranty is applied to every purchasem - use it.
at least take it in and let the experts investigate.

I agree, better leave it to experts. It may still be covered by free repair warranty since it was just bought last year. (mine has 3-yr warranty)

I understand your wanting to learn about these things, and as above suggest you be careful. BUT if the noise appears to emanating from the fan area, with the pc off spray some canned air in the inlet and exhaust fan ports and see if that stops it.

Other than that, as Bruce says if it’s under warranty take it back.
