Hard drive replacement

    So I took out the old hard drive. Put the new one in and changed the disk from mbr to gpt. Then I proceeded with the install and it worked on this drive. whew. I still wish I knew why the other one wouldn’t take.

      Recovery disk are made specifically for specific systems.
      So the set may not fully work properly on your system and you may run into issues down the line. Were they for disk that some one made and sold or OEM form Sony. If they are not OEM they may be cracked and no telling what goodies you got with them.

      Which could explain why you may have had issues installing from the recovery software.
