    Help!

Any advice or suggestions for removing a stripped screw? On my Acer Nitro 5 laptop, I was attempting to install an HDD but unfortunately 2 of the 4 screws stripped. Meanwhile, the screwdriver was a perfect fit for the other 2 screws and they’re all the same size. Frustrating!

Do I need to call MacGyver or what?

there is no magic answer for this one… whatever works will be the key here (or brute force).
in these cases I have found a flat head screwdriver of around the same width as the phillips head screws in use can be used to turn the screws - you’re just going to have to find the right head (of the right strength) that fits, and some filing down of the screw driver’s head may be in order.
you might have to sacrifice/modify some tools for the job.

or, yeah, take it to MacGyver. (jeez that show was - and the reboot is - crap)

Yea, I figured that’d be the case. Thanks!

I like to use the lift and unscrew method myself. A thin edged screw driver and or a knife lifting up while i am using the other tool to retrieve the stripped screw.

Yes, I had figured it out. Used my other kit of screw drivers and one of them was just the right fit to get them out. Thanks for you help!
