    Bloatware/software insight for Nitro 5

    Hey all,

So I just got the Acer Nitro 5 (specs in my profile) and I’m looking to optimize performance by getting rid of any bloatware that I may not be aware of.

Currently, I have CCleaner free version and a 30 day subscription to Norton. I have to say, out of the box this rig seems to be pretty smooth and clean, but are there any other programs/software I should know about?

    Thanks in advance!

Hi @DeezHands and Welcome to PCHF

Try The PC Decrapifier, ditch Norton (use Malwarebytes instead), and disable Prefetch.

Free version good enough or is paid recommended?

I recommend using Emsisoft + Malwarebytes premium. I use it on my PC and it’s blazing fast.

        We have reviews on both.

        Emsisoft - https://pchelpforum.net/resources/em...i-malware.151/
        Malwarebytes - https://pchelpforum.net/resources/ma...nti-malware.1/

Also, do you recommend the paid version of CCleaner?
