I have an HP Pavilion B & O laptop. I unplugged it from its power cord in order to take it outside. Now, it doesn’t see any networks. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the network adapter. I have tried disabling and reenabling the network adapter. I have tried resetting the modem. I have restarted the laptop several times. Other devices connect just fine, but not this laptop. The laptop recognizes my bluetooth headset, but it does not see any wireless networks. There is no physical network adapter switch.
Please help. I am missing work and school. Thank you!
Please download MiniToolBox and save it to your desktop. Run the program by right clicking on it and selecting Run as administrator. When the program opens select the following boxes:
Flush DNS
Report IE Proxy Settings
Reset IE Proxy Settings
Report FF Proxy Settings
Reset FF Proxy Settings
List content of Hosts
List IP Configuration
List Winsock Entries
List last 10 Event Viewer Errors
List Installed Programs
List Devices (Only Problems)
List Users, Partitions and Memory size
Do you have another machine and a Flash drive or USB to transfer the file?
You can also use a cd or dvd to transfer the logs.
Or perhaps you can use your phone to download and transfer the logs.
If not we can try and shoot in the dark and run some commands that reset the TCPIP stack..
Can you answer a couple more questions as well.
Can you connect using your phones internet via PDAnet
Can you plug the machine directly into the modem via an ethernet cable?
Using one of the above methods you should be able to get the logs to us.

The log shows only a bluetooth wireless connection…
Are there any errors in the device manager next to network adapters?

Go ahead and remove McAfee LiveSafe - Internet Security Via add remove programs or with Geek Uninstaller. Then run the Mcafee Removal Tool, and reboot the machine.
Mcafee can sometimes hinder a network connection.
If after you reboot the machine and there is still no internet connection then…
Download. Smart fix, save it to the desktop of the machine in question.
Right click it and run as administrator.
Select Perform Full recovery of the network settings and restart computer, then click start.

Allow the program to run and then it should reboot your machine after completion, if it does not then reboot manually and check the connection.
Let us know the outcome.
I used Geek Uninstaller to remove Mcafee and then I used SmartFix. There appears to be no change; I still get the message ‘Not connected - No connections are available’.

Go ahead and remove Avast Free Antivirus with Geek Uninstaller. Then we will search for any remaining antivirus files with ZHP diag, having two antivirus on the machine may have corrupted the network settings…

Download ZHP Diag to your desktop.
Right Click Run as Admin.
Click the Options button.
Click on Check All
Then Click Validate
