    HP 15-1033

Ok my son is trying to downgrade his sisters laptop which has Win 8.1 on it. She says it was working correctly the last time she shut the thing down.. Now.. he is down degrading it to Win 7,but when he started working on it he found that the usb drivers are missing as well as the lan drivers and of course the optical drive-drivers.. Doing a check disk now and going back in the bios to check to see if everything is set where it is suppose to be. Trying safe mode is no help neither..

Use snappy driver installer to grab the drivers, I have found that it will find drivers when downgrading.

Use the SDI Lite download, then go by this picture…

You may need to use another USB device to go online.

Also, this program should help us along the way.

      [ul]
[li]Download Unknown Device Identifier v9.00[/li][li]Run it.[/li][li]Allow it to complete.[/li][li]Hit File >>Save[/li][li]The default name will be DeviceList[/li][li]Save it to your desktop.[/li][li]Open DeviceList.txt copy contents.[/li][li]Paste it here.[/li][/ul]

Going to try a forced linux boot via usb..and see if the drivers can be downloaded that way.

HP drivers usually come best with Ubuntu. Might want to try a live boot with Ubuntu and see if you can download the drivers that way

At this point it may be the best option. Have him go to walmart, or a drugstore they usually carry cds for cheap.
