I bought this laptop brand new not too long ago. One issue Iβm having that is random is that when I plug the charger in, sometimes the light will flash and it wonβt charge. I have to mess around with it a little bit before it actually does charge. Iβm really curious what could be causing this.
Take it back to where you bought it. If the charging port is the problem, that bit of hardware should be covered under the warranty. You donβt want to start doing too much to a new laptop or the place that you bought it from will claim that you broke something.
Taking it back has been out of the option for a while now. This thing already has everything on it.
The issue is very random, and Iβm beginning to think is either program based, or has to do with the power saving options. Let me explain.
Most of the time the battery will plug in and charge just fine. Sometimes, it will flash and just not charge. Those times, I have to try various things ranging from the following. All of these have worked in different instances:
Closing all programs
Open browser windows so the computer is doing something.
Open a game.
Plug in or unplug my USB controller.
What Iβve also noticed, this issue mainly happens when my battery falls to very low levels. If the battery falls to, say, 50%, it plugs in and works fine.
Turn off the power save options and see if that has any change on the situation. Try different ones see if any make and differences.
Here are some other things to check. Where the power plugs into the laptop does it feel loose or wiggle?
Could be a bad power brick?
Could be a bad battery?
Could be a faulty system?
Yes it could be an misconfiguration some place?

Iβll mess around with power saver stuff here in a bit.
The power cord doesnβt wiggle when plugged into the laptop. Itβs secure.
If the battery or any of that was bad, wouldnβt it struggle above 50%? Right now my laptop power is down to 58%. Plug in the charger, charging just fine. Itβs some type of issue that only happens if the battery falls to critical levels.
