After a weekend away, I went to boot up my computer and the power blue light turned on but when nothing came on the screen I tried turning it off pressing the power button. It didn’t work. It only turned off after holding it down for 5 seconds. I tried resetting the memory/RAM but that didn’t help. Worried the SSD died, I plugged it into my other computer and it booted up (so I ruled that out as an issue… phew). I unplugged the other drives/ DVD player and tried only using 2 8GB RAM sticks instead of all 4, but did not help. Sometimes it would do nothing or now the power light initially turns on, but that’s it. All fans inside are not on either (I can’t recall if it was like that at the start), but I do know the power/ HD activity light isn’t even on (which was turning on originally). The speakers do crackle when I switch the power supply on/off and I do feel the fan of that on.
At this point, I think my issue is the power supply. From old emails, it looks like it crossed the 10 year mark. I wanted to check on your thoughts before I take a part the power supply in my other PC to check it. If there’s any other tests or issues I might be missing.
Thanks!
