    GPU issues

Okay, so very recently, close to the end of 2024, my pc has started to have issues with (what I think the problem is) the GPU (GeForce 3060)

    Issues:
    1. No matter the game, the GPU usage is EXTREMELY high, like when I’m playing a low-demand game, for example, Roblox, my GPU usage reaches 99% and stays on that (i had turned on a setting recently that’s helped reduce the usage, but not by a lot, like it reaches 60-70 on high settings which my computer should be able to handle).
    2. The temperature when the GPU is idle reaches 40 degrees, which isn’t that big of a problem, I guess, but when I play any sort of game, it stays consistently on 80 (by the way, I only had 3 apps open, Brave, Discord, and Roblox).
    3. This issue might be caused by the GPU temperature or usage, because I saw a video on it recently, my pc would usually almost 100% crash every day, this causes me to lose some coding work that i have, and for some reason removes Bluetooth from my device completely even though it was working and was available before the restart occured (this problem only happens when the device shuts down due to the GPU or other issue.

Here is the temperature with just Brave browser open:

    Information:
My pc is on the ground, I hadn’t cleaned it before because I don’t know how to, but from looking at it, it doesn’t look very dusty, maybe like a tiny bit, but not enough to cause this many performance issues.

if you need any other information, please ask.

Let’s do a full workup of your system.
No personal data is published and everything shown is safe.
    1. Download Speccy by Piriform.
In Speccy, click File > Publish Snapshot > Copy to Clipboard > Close.
Paste that link into your post. Is Speccy safe?
    2. Download GetSystemInfo by Kaspersky.
In GSI, click Start. (takes about 10mins)
It makes a ZIP file on your desktop, drag that to their GSI Parser site.
Once analysed, paste the newly created URL into your post.
    3. Download MiniToolBox by Farbar.
In MTB, tick List Installed Programs, click Go then close the program.
A file MTB.txt is created in the same folder, attach that to your post.
    4. No software interrogates the Power Supply Unit so list the make/model and age.

            And the power supply unit?
That info you gave in item #4 is the system model.
If you have no documentation of the power supply, you’ll need to open up the case cover and look at the sticker on the power supply unit.

            Is this yours; https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/p/deskt...005#tech_specs

            From the reports;
            [ul]
[li]remove McAfee WebAdvisor. Use Revo Uninstaller or Geek Uninstaller to remove leftovers[/li][li]the BIOS is pushing 2 years since an update, so check the Lenovo site for anything more recent[/li][/ul]
As to dust buildup, it wouldn’t hurt to clean the innards anyway. Get a can of compressed air, or take it out to the shed and hit it with an air-compressor.
Or even use a soft bristled brush and clean the air vents, fan blades, and heat sinks.

Would also be a good test to get your hands on another GPU, you’ll quickly isolate the issue if the replacement GPU performs OK.

For the BIOS, did you click the Download button on that page for the 12 Mar 2025 version?
And it looks like they even give you instructions in the Flash Under Operating System section. (y)

Your BIOS is Version: O5SKT27A Date: 7/04/2023
That site is showing the latest is O5SKT36A Date: 12 Mar 2025

If you don’t feel confident opening up the side cover, that’s OK.
Going forward however, we are eventually going to want to know the power supply details, plus most likely want you to change GPU for testing purposes, plus even maybe reset Windows.
So, while not impossible for anyone to do, it sounds like you may baulk at digging deeper.

If you had another GPU to try (old spare one, friend, family, neighbour, work PC) would you feel comfortable in taking out your current one and installing this ‘new’ one?

If the answer is no then it’s time to either take the PC to an expert, or get a friend to help you.
We all started our technology journey as complete muppets, so we know what it is like to not know what you don’t know.
It’s never a bad thing to know your limitations and get help, and if you watch what they do or ask what was done, it can be a learning opportunity.

Does your GPU issue only happen when playing games?
If you surf the web, check emails, watch a youtube video, edit a Word document - all is fine?
