Just a quick one whilst you wait for phillpower2
Connect the computer directly to a wall socket - completely by pass the power board

Hey, just did it but still got the steady orange light.

I really thought that would solve everything for some reason.

I saw that someone in my house connected my computer to an extension lead which was connected to another extension lead ???‍♂️.

There’s only one wall socket in my room, so i plugged the computer only just to see if the light would still be there meaning there’s a problem. Tomorrow morning I’ll plug my monitor into another socket and test with the computer to see if it gives signal.

Just tried it with the monitor, no signal still.

But now the computer is connected directly on the wall socket.

Apologies for the delay getting back to you, had a busy day & needed an early night i`m afraid.

          Meant to ask you the other day but it got forgotten;

You only mention the flashing RAM LED but nothing else, is there any signs of life from anything at all when you press the case power on button.

Based on the advised it is not looking good I`m afraid, every MB should ship with a BIOS error speaker but to save a few pence on a MB they leave them off, in this instance the speaker has more or less confirmed that the MB is bad, the fact that the RAM LED flashes with and without RAM in place + you not getting any error beeps even with no RAM in the board and the RAM LED still flashing nails it on for me.

The final in place test that you can do is to try an alternative PSU just in case the present Gigabyte PSU has a fault on the +12V rail, you have double checked that all modular cables are connected as they should be and that they are secure at both ends.

            Hey, no worries!

When I press the power button, everything lights up, GPU, CPU and coolers, but with it, the orange DRAM light too. The keyboard doesn’t light up, but I remember deactivating any light from it in windows when the computer was working, so I don’t know if it isn’t getting power or it is f working but just without light.

And yeah, I thought of being the motherboard as well, kinda sad. The only thing that really got me confused is why it happened, because everything was working fine just until I moved houses.

To test another PSU I would probably need to buy a new one or get a used one from somebody, so I might as well just check the cables one more time and hope for the best.

I really appreciate your time and your help with all this problem!
            Thank you very much!

              Thanks (y)

Everything lighting up does not prove that the PSU is 100% good but it does make a faulty PSU less likely.

If you can`t borrow a PSU it would be better to find a reputable tech close to you and ask them what they would charge for taking a look, it would hopefully be less than purchasing a test PSU.

Options that you have left are doing a barebones setup outside of the case and if still no change removing the CPU from the socket and powering up the board to see if the RAM LED behaviour changes and - or if you get any error beeps.

Let us know if you need a guide for the barebones setup.

              You are welcome.

Hey phill, hope you’ve been good.

Unfortunately no news, I tried to get a working PSU from a friend of mine but after some time trying to schedule a time that I could do so, I found it better just to give up and make a new build as it was something I already wanted to do for a while (just didn’t have the money right now to do so ???). So yeah, unfortunately we’ll never know what was faulty for sure, but it actually could’ve been both or one of them (motherboard & psu).

But thank you for all the time you dedicated trying to help, it really means a lot. Take care!

Sorry to hear that Lucas but thank you for letting us know.

Project for the future for you then, store these parts somewhere safe and once you have the PSU for your new build use it to test the present parts.

You are welcome and you know where we are if you need us in the future, even if it is only to take a look at a parts list when you are ready to build.
