    PC restarts while gaming sometimes

    amd 5600
    corsair cx650
    radeon 6600
    MSI B550M PRO-VDH WIFI Motherboard

I built my PC a couple months ago and Ive been having the same issue ever since.
On certain games my PC juts reboots completely. and the amount of times the game can reboot is inconsistent. For example i have 25 hours in bb3 and my PC only rebooted while playing twice. But in a game like dishonored 2 it reboots every 45 mins to an hour without fail. I also noticed that in some of the games that cause reboots the PC will be making this loud buzzing sound that gets louder and louder until the reboot. Its worth mentioning i am on zorin OS but i did try using windows to make sure it wasn’t a hardware issue but i had the same issues there. But weirdly while i was on windows everything ran fine until a week later when the reboots started again. Im just really looking for help here i have no idea what the problem. I don’t think its overheating because I’ve been keeping my eye on that as well. My bios is also on the latest version as well.
The only type of error logs i have found are
Nov 29 19:43:44 catheater-MS-7C95 kernel: ACPI: *OSC evaluation for CPUs failed, trying *PDC

Are you on Zorin or Windows currently?

In Terminal run sudo apt install screenfetch
Once installed run it and post the result.

What did you use to determine your temps? Can you run it while running Dishonored 2 and upload the results in your next post? If you don’t Psensor is a good one.

I just used mangohud and watched the temps and never noticed it running too hot at least to me anyway I’m not an expertise so i could be wrong. But this is what the temps look like while playing after around 15 minutes. I noticed as well that my pc is making a kind of loud buzzing noise when gaming. I don’t really know if this is normal as i have never owned a PC. But i only built PC a few months.

Its also worth mentioning that the only way i found the reboots to not happen as often is to under clock my CPU. But this is a stop gap to the actual problem.

I’m leaning toward your PSU. It’s on the low end list. Do you have another you could swap out and test?

At this point I’ll just bring it in to a repair shop. I don’t have a spare psu and I’d rather not buy one just incase that’s not the problem. But thanks for the help

Yes, I’m sorry I cannot be more sure. It’s tough not sitting in front of the PC.

I’ll close this for now. If you need it re-opened hit one of us up.
