It happened again yesterday while playing a game but did not produce a dump file. I have been looking in the reliability monitor regarding the 24th September crash and it states multiple hardware errors at the time of the crash. In fact October 1st shows A LOT of hardware errors, though it doesn’t state a hardware error everytime it has happened. I think I’m pretty sure at this point that Corsair iCUE is one of the main problems, but as I use it for my liquid cooler fan curve I am dubious about getting rid of it, even though I want to. Are there any better, alterative software I can for the fan curve? Could this just be Corsair iCUE is interfering with my graphics drivers?

I was on the game menu at the time, I had just gone into the kitchen to do something so didn’t actually catch it going off and came back to the no signal screen and keyboard, mouse etc unresponsive as usual. However if it did the same as it normally would then first the sound would have cut out and then the picture. Sometimes if in a game it will get very laggy and drop a lot of FPS as well. Sorry if that isn’t very helpful.Comment

No worries as the above rules out a Windows issue.
As a starting point, uninstall the problematic ICue software, restart the PC but don`t do any gaming, use the computer like you were when this latest episode occured to see what happens, while doing this keep a check on the temps and the cooling fan noise.Comment

The latest episode did occur during a gaming session yesterday though. Or at least in the main menu options.
I will note that since you gave the previous advice of what to do to my system it seems to be running cooler, particularly the processor which which was idling in the high 40s to low 50s and now idles in the high 30s to low 40s.Comment

Would not class being in a games menu as being under load in all honesty.
Stick to that advised in my reply #19 but in addition repeat the steps that caused the last episode, with the exception of leaving the room that is.Comment

Ok, typing this as I sit in menu of the game.
I uninstalled iCUE and rebooted my system as per your advice. First thing I noticed as soon as I booted the system was the processor was 58c but was very quickly bought back down to the low 40s by the cooler.
Currently sitting on the main menu about 15 minutes now, processor is in the low to mid 40s and is pretty much staying there with the exception of a few dashes to the low 50s but is quickly being bought back down.
GPU started in the low 40s and currently sitting in the low to mid 50s. Fans are definitely getting louder, but quite slowly.
No crashes as of yet.Comment

Try a bit of gaming, if things go okay, get rid of any other unused RGB software then go here and download the latest version of the software that you need.Comment

Spent a while gaming, and everything was smooth! (other than the stuttering game which is nothing unusual for this game!)
Holy crap I think the problem was iCUE all along… I’m quite shocked! Though I do remember at some point updating from iCUE 4 to 5 but I can’t remember when. I know I had to uninstall and reinstall 5 a few times as it would not detect my cooler. Wondering if my PC doesn’t like 5 and I should go back to 4?
While I’m at it, a few errors in event viewer which have been around for a very long time, wondering if they are anything I should worry about or I can leave them alone.- Session “NT Kernel Logger” failed to start with the following error: 0xC0000035
and - Metadata staging failed, result=0x80070490 for container ‘{19BAC2C9-FD62-11EE-BBDD-806E6F6E6963}’
I’m so appreciative of your help! This has been bugging me all year literally. Thank you SO much, I really hope we’ve cracked it!Comment

Fingers crossed for you and fwiw never worry about anything in Event Viewer that is not marked as Critical, Windows is throwing out and correcting errors all the while that you are using it.Comment

I’ve just installed iCUE 4, pretty sure I had no issues with this one. I’ve also just been doing some research and noticed I set up my fan curve wrong, I’d been setting it up to work off the processor temp not the coolant temp.
I’m going to try this a few days to verify the issue is gone and let you know.Comment
