Can I ask that you do not quote every reply as we have to read the full post to make sure nothing gets missed, thanks.

You need a minimum of a 750W Gold efficiency rated PSU from one of the following, Corsair RM range, EVGA, Seasonic or Super Flower, seven year warranty period minimum but ideally ten

If the PSU is on its way out it could happen at any time but for sure the present PSU will be overheating internally when under load and when it does the OTP ( Over Temperature Protection ) will activate and either reduce power or turn off completely.

You need a new PSU regardless and I strongly suggest that you get your GPU tested on its own or alternatively see if you are able to borrow an appropriate PSU to swap in for testing purposes.

Mal is best placed to deal with anything software related but I will mention the below.
    Driver Booster Scheduler
    Driver Booster SkipUAC (andre)
    Driver Booster Update

    Get rid of the above, it is nothing but snakeoil, see my canned info below;
Once Windows has been installed, you install the necessary drivers for the MB and other hardware and then leave well alone, drivers should not be allowed to auto update and you should never update any driver/s unless the new drivers are intended to resolve a specific issue that you are having, installing new drivers unnecessarily can actually cause you the very issues that any new drivers are intended to resolve and uninstalling the new drivers may not resolve the problem/s that installing the new drivers has caused.

Depending on priority it can take many months before the driver provider releases any fix and depending on the age of the hardware or software concerned they sometimes do not even bother or may have already announced an end of support.

      Sorry about the quotes

Those driver programs were installed by the technician to make his tests, I’ll get rid of them, what are those pre installed programs and other things that could go?

I’m pretty sure that antivirus alert is a false positive I’ve been getting for years, an attached link for a receipt in an email I received many years ago that was stored in the cached files

I’ll try getting a new psu, but in my setup it’s is in a difficult position to reach to make the change. How do you suggest I test my gpu, is there a good program to test it’s failing?

You don`t test a GPU using a junk PSU, this unless you want to brick it, that and the rest of your hardware if the PSU goes bang.

Fwiw: No decent tech uses those sort of programs, they do the job properly by either using a driver disk provided or by sourcing any required drivers themselves online.

Run this batch file, and follow the suggestions as the bottom of the page.
          GeekUnisntaller, O&O shutup 10 etc.

          As far as preinstalled items.

          Advanced SystemCare (HKLM-x32...\Advanced SystemCare_is1) (Version: 17.6.0 - IObit)
Anything labled ASUS as it comes preinstalled, and not really needed, I’d leave mother board and fan control.

When you use GeekUninstaller go thru and remove any preinstalled apps from MS that you do not use.

I’ve done everything in that link, thanks
I also bought a new PSU instead of just borrowing one (Corsair RM1000X, 1000W, 80 Plus Gold), if mine is so bad I figured it was worth it even without knowing if it was the cause of the issue
Since clean reinstalling the gpu drivers it hasn’t happened, but think it is still too soon to be sure it’s fixed as it since it began to happen it went some days without it happening
