My pc boots only from backup bios.

Hello everyone I’m new here. So three days ago I turned on my pc and after a few seconds, before windows came up, it restarted again by itself. After that my windows pin wasnt working anymore and I had to set a new one. I was able to do that after a couple of minutes because windows were like stuck as well. I was pressing to set a new pin and windows didnt do anything at first. After I set up the pin I was able to log in to windows again and after a couple of minutes a realise that my pc was louder than usual. I checked my temps with hwmonitor and I noticed that my cpu was running at stock voltage. Since almost two years now I run my 9900k undervolted with an -0.075v offset to run cooler, quiter and to draw less power.

After I realised that everything was running on stock, even xmp profile was turned off I came to the conclusion that I had a shutdown, because my pc has done that once more in the past. So I went back to bios and my bios was looking complete different. I searched a bit and I figure out that my pc is booting now only from the backup bios that has an older chipset version. my main bios isnt been used. And I also cannot set an voltage offset anymore on the backup bios. It doesn’t work.
My pc boots up with stock voltages even if I set an offset in bios(on the backup one).

So three days now my pc boots only from backup bios. Anyone has a clue what wrong with the pc?

I have a gigabyte z390 aorus matser motherboard.

    Thanks in advance!!!

Have you tried removing the CMOS battery, and the PC’s power cable from the wall, then press the PC power button as if you are turning it on.
This will drain any residual charge.
Now re-insert the battery, and reconnect the power cable.
Turn the PC on and press the appropriate Fn key to get into BIOS.

Thank you for your replay. No, I haven’t tried it to be honest. I have a medical issue atm and I can’t spend much time on pc workours. My motherboard thought has a “clear cmos” button. You think that would be enough to reset things?

It worked. Bios settings got reset and I was able to boot from main bios. I’m also able set an vcore off set again. Everything is working perfect now. Thanks Bruce, you’re the best. ???
