Why is my PC making a concerning rattling noise under stress?

I’m thinking it’s one of the fans but now I’m worried it might be the AIO. I did a GPU stress test and there was no noise but after running a cpu burner test, the noise started up again. I added some screenshots just in case anyone is interested. Is this sound common for a particular hardware issue? Yesterday I cleaned up my PC but I didn’t find anything obviously wrong. Performance not halted. Thanks for the help.

Above all I have to ask why on earth are you running stress tests in the first place, are you an extreme overclocker;

Stress testing by its very name does just that stress things and it is only normally extreme OCers that have money to burn that use such programs.

Next question, any problems with noise or temps when the PC is in normal use such as gaming or watching videos etc.

This all started 4 days ago now and it happened when I was browsing on my web browser.. I did the stress tests today to see if there were thermal issues. I don’t overclock. The noise seemed to showed up whenever there was load? Yesterday when I opened edge it started again. Funny enough it’s not happening now after the stress tests I did today ??? I just played a few games and no issues. weird! I expect it to play up sometime though.

This may sound like a shade tree mechanics trick, and it is. But it works because of a principal of physics known as transmission of sound through a solid object. Take a wooden or plastic long handled spoon and place it against the PSU(AIO,FAN) with the handle end against the PSU (AIO,FAN) and the spoon end against your ear and listen to see if the noise is coming from the PSU or elsewhere.

The last thing that you should ever do with a misbehaving computer is stress test any hardware, if for example it was the AIO you could have fried the CPU when stress testing it.

Couple of things for you to do;

Post the brand and model name or number of the PSU.

Download Speedfan and install it. Once it’s installed, run the program and post here the information it shows. The information I want you to post is the stuff that is circled in the example picture I have attached but don`t worry if it does not display the same.

To capture and post a screenshot;

Click on the ALT key + PRT SCR key..its on the top row..right hand side..now click on start…all programs…accessories…paint…left click in the white area …press CTRL + V…click on file…click on save…save it to your desktop…name it something related to the screen your capturing… BE SURE TO SAVE IT AS A .JPG …otherwise it may be to big to upload… after typing in any response you have… click on Upload a File to add the screenshot.

Screenshot instructions are provided to assist those that may read this topic but are not yet aware of the “how to”.
