I recently sold my AMD graphics card, after uninstalling the graphics card I plugged my monitor into my onboard motherboard HDMI port (MSI MPG Z490). The computer turned on and worked perfectly for about a minute or two of sitting at the desktop, I then heard a beep similar to when you plug a USB or something into the computer. After that the monitor went black and would not work.
I tried restarting the computer, unplugging the HDMI and plugging it back it, I even tried a new HDMI cable and a different monitor and got the same result. The computer would boot up fine into safe mode and the display worked perfectly. I used DDU to uninstall the AMD drivers completely as well as any Intel graphics drivers and I reinstalled the Intel graphics while I was in safe mode. This didn’t do anything as I still got a black screen when i tried rebooting not in safe mode.
Finally I formatted the hard drive and installed a fresh copy of Windows 10. The windows installation process went perfect until the end when it had the black screen with text that says something like “wrapping things up, finishing installation”. I saw that screen and then it went away as if it was about to go to the desktop like it does when it finishes installing windows. As soon as it seemed like it was about to load the desktop I heard the beep noise again and the monitor went black and said no signal.
Not sure what to do at this point it works perfectly in safe mode, so I thought it was some kind of driver issue but with it still not working after reinstalling windows I’m not sure what to do. Could it be something in BIOS?
