i recently had a power surge and my pc started crashing after that, one day it just didnt boot so i started checking what couldve have gone wrong - turns out it was one of my ram sticks that were fried and when i took it out the pc seemed to work fine, but sometimes i get weird freezing stutters and the audio buzzes for like half a second , i suspect it could be the moterboard that was also damaged - id appreciate any help.

Hello
I would suggest that you go over your mobo and look for scorch marks and melted metal . This may include taking the mobo out so you can check the bottom.. Quite frankly a power surge on a pc is rarely good.. Saying that i am surprised you got it to work. -
Also, sadly, discovering visual clues on the motherboard is often impossible as the damage could be within the components and circuitry, out of eyesight.
If you had a fried memory stick, the power pathway to that component is all the way through the motherboard, and the fried RAM was the weakest part of that path where the surge was able to ‘escape’.Comment
