So I built a new PC a month ago and everything’s been going well until the computer suddenly stopped and only the RAM lights were on. I figured that maybe something shorted but i didn’t see anything like that and i also didn’t smell or see any smoke. I decided to go to a specialist and they said that it’s probably the mobo but they don’t want to go deeper since the mobo still has warranty. The PC was working perfectly fine this past month and now it just stopped. Every time I try to turn it back on only the RAM lights up and nothing else turns on.
What could’ve caused this?
mobo: MSI B650 gaming plus wifi
CPU: Ryzen 5 7600x
RAM: corsair vengeance rgb 32 gb
GPU: RTX 4070 Super
PSU: Corsair rm750e
I also have an NZXT AIO.
All of the latest drivers were installed and everything was running perfectly fine.
I don’t like giving advice when there is still a warranty in place. Without knowing the specifics of the warranty, anything you tinker with could void the warranty.
That being said, can you try another PSU? If that doesn’t work, I’d RMA the motherboard.
The only difference is power points on a power board can die, or the board itself, or it has a reset button that has tripped and needs pressing.
The best test is to plug in a light into the power point you want to plug the PC into - if the light comes on, you are good to go.
